Sailcloth bag

I created a sailcloth bag. I designed it such that the top can stand up open very nicely through two metal wire inserts into the rim next to the zipper. It is the perfect size for short travel. Using such metal inserts was an excellent idea I picked up from the Savage Industries EDC One bag on which this bag was loosely based.

In progress. The main bag stands, no top part attached.

The finished bag stands on a wooden table. Side view. Open, top view. A couple things in the bag. The top stands nice and open because I put a Savage Industries style metal bent rod in the top!
With the top unzipped, you can see how the opening maintains its shape very well. In the bag are my dear orange New Balance shoes and my D7000. Perfect showcase filler items.

Since I created this bag, I have carried it with me all over the world. From smaller trips all the way to the Athens and the US. It holds up extremely well.

I am happy to give out plans for this bag if somebody wants them. I haven't created any, but it is a decently simple design and it's very fun to make. If I ever make plans, I will link them here.
